Join Austrian born plein air painter and teacher Ilse Taylor Hable,  www.ilsehable.com for a 5 day plein air workshop plus color course in the picturesque fishing village of Rose Blanche on the Southwest Coast of Newfoundland.
For oil painters, intermediate level.
Lots of practical advice and individual attention will be given, small class of max. 10 people. Daily 3 hour plein air session at different locations, plus daily 90 minute color class, indoors.
Charming accommodations and use of large Art Studio.
Cost:
$500.00 art instruction (five days)
$666.50 B&B, lunches and dinners (five days – Monday to Friday)

List of materials needed:
1. Portable plein air type easel or pochade box on tripod  (a few minutes of hiking may be necessary)
2. A minimum of eight panels or canvases, no smaller than 8×10″, no larger than 11×14″. Bring more panels if you plan on painting on your own after class.
3. Drying box for your wet canvases.
4. Plenty of brushes (flat) sizes 2,4,6 and 8
5. Odorless turp or Gamsol. (Gamsol is allowed on airplanes)
6. Oil paints, no need for more than the following:
Titanium white
Cadmium yellow pale
Transparent gold ochre
Cadmium orange (optional but recommended)
Cadmium red light
Alizarin Crimson
Red rose (optional but recommended)
Violet, transparent (optional but recommended)
Ultramarine blue
Manganese blue
Viridian
Sap green
Ivory black only for some exercises during the Color Course
Small spiral notebook
Soft pencil
Absorbent paper roll
Whatever you need to clean your brushes
Hat or visor

Isle’s Biography

Ilse T. Hable was born in Vienna, Austria, where she studied art and received a Masters Degree from the Akademie fuer Angewandte Kunst. She earned several prizes, including 1st prize for the 1970 World Exhibition in Osaka, Japan.

A career as a fashion designer in Europe and Mexico followed during the next twelve years.

In 1983, after moving to California, the artist started dedicating her time exclusively to the fine arts. She has studied with the well-known painters Sebastian Capella, John Asaro, Wolf Kahn, Albert Handell and Bert Silverman.

Ilse T. Hable presented her first One Person Show in La Jolla, CA, in 1987 and has continued exhibiting her work professionally in fourteen individual shows and over twenty group shows. Her work has been exhibited in several museum shows and in commercial galleries in the US and Mexico.

She has been teaching Color Theory as well as courses in Oil Painting since 2007.

Her paintings form part of private collections in the United States, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Sweden, Canada and Mexico, where she has also participated in the creation of two large scale, public murals.

The artist is represented by Galería Vértice in both Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta, México, and by Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale,  Arizona.
